SEO friendly content or how to write text correctly
How do you create SEO friendly content that will delight both users and search engines? What are the 10 most important things you need to know to write content that ranks well in search and is useful to your readers at the same time?
How to write SEO friendly copy
1. Write unique and original content
Unique and original content doesn’t necessarily mean you have to offer something new or say something that no one else has said before. This means that your text doesn’t have to be an exact copy from another website or online source. Google is very good at identifying duplicate content and they have no reason to rank a web page or website with copied content. In the index, they want web pages that meet people’s search queries, and the more unique web pages they have, the more likely they are to delight their users and come back. Links to the original source don’t make your content unique – one of the mistakes many bloggers make is to copy content from a website, post it yourself, and then link to the original source. How do you make sure your content is unique? – I am using cityscape, a tool that allows you to type a piece of text and tell you if it is “unique” or not.
2. Think before writing article titles
The post title is important for many reasons, and well-structured headers will help:
Search engines understand what the page is about
Users understand if this is what they want to find and read
Advertising systems decide whether or not they want to advertise this page.
It is also one of the most important SEO factors on a page.
So, how do you choose a post header that meets the above criteria:
Do your keyword research to see what people are looking for that relates to the topic of your page.
Search for keywords on Google, Yahoo, and Bing to find similar titles. Pay attention to the suggestions you get when entering keywords in the search box, and also scroll down the search results page to see what others are looking for.
Once you’ve decided on the basic structure of your title (using the two methods described above), try to make your title more social and appealing to users. Try to think like a user and judge if your headline prompts you to go to this page.
Make sure your title is no longer than 65 characters.
Important note. With the above guidelines in mind, keep in mind that the order of the keywords in the title is important – so try listing the keywords first, then the rest of the words.
3. Pay attention to your presentation.
When crawling a web page, search engines want to understand the context of the page and decide to include something in their index as quickly as possible. Your job is to help them with this task by mentioning your SEO keywords at the start of your page.
4. Don’t forget the body of the page
This means that while you should pay due attention to your page title and description, you should also consider adding keywords to your page text.
5. The relationship is good for SEO
I am a big fan of internal linking and always advise my clients to use internal links in their posts / pages to create their own little websites on their sites.
6. Decorate the text
In May 2011, Amit Singhal (former head of the Google search team) published a set of guidelines for high quality websites at the Google Webmaster Center. Unsurprisingly, some of these were related to how the page text / content is presented to the user. It’s important to pay attention to detail when preparing your page and make it easy for users to scan text to find what they need. To make the page look good, add bold, italics, images, videos, small paragraphs, and headings.
7. Display the author’s name and biography
The web is no longer anonymous, which means that when you post content to a web page, you should also view author information. This is especially true for sensitive topics, such as topics related to health, finance, etc., but in general, posting author information makes the page reliable. The best way to do this is to add a short author bio below your articles.
8. Use images and optimize them
They are also suitable for search engines because they are an additional way to find out more about a given page. Recommendations for using images in your content include:
Use images for which you have the required copyright
Optimize your image size because you don’t want your images to slow down your site.
Use ALT text to describe the subject of the image – you can also use keywords
9. Proofread your SEO text several times before publishing it.
It goes without saying, but you don’t want to post anything that contains spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, phrases that don’t make sense, or just text that doesn’t make sense. Before clicking the Publish button, make sure you have checked the instructions above and that it reads well without errors or omissions.
10. Is your content better than the competition?
This is my last tip, but very important. We all know there is a lot of competition in anything you post on the internet, and search engines have a hard time deciding what to show in their top positions.
To maximize your chances of getting the best SERP position, you need to make sure that your page is better than the others.
You have to convince them that your content is more useful to the search engine than what’s already in their index. Of course, there are a lot of other factors that come into play such as domain trust, backlinks, who wrote the page, etc., but as a first step you can do some checking before hitting the publish button. . So when you’re done with the page and it’s ready to go, search for your page title on Google and take a very close look at websites in the top 10 positions. Compare them to your page in the following areas:
What is the average length of the content in terms of words? If your copy is much smaller, you may want to consider adding more content before continuing.
What type of content is there on the pages? Do they have a lot of photos, videos? How does that compare to your page?
The quality of the information? In terms of the quality of the information provided, is your page better than others and more useful to users?
